Happy new year from Hanoise! Here’s to hoping that 2014 continues to bring the experimentally inclined in Hanoi a wide and growing variety of sonic and visual assaults on the senses. Thanks to all the artists, promoters, venue owners and enthusiasts out there for bringing some great shows in 2013. We had a variety of artists from all over Asia and beyond visit and make music with us. Bring ’em back and bring more with ’em!
It’s been a quiet start to the year on the experimental front, but fans of electronic music of the “clubbier” variety can come out to Madake on Saturday evening to check out Tri Minh, Vaughn and Cybersnack spinning tunes and tones until the wee hours. Of significant note is an opening warm-up set from Sebastien Gesell, a regular on the left-field music scene in Hanoi who is unfortunately moving away soon after Tet for the warmer, shinier confines of Singapore. Come out to bid farewell to Sebastien on Saturday and stick around for an evening of “digital goodness and electric tomfoolery.” Sebastien’s set starts at 9pm, while the main acts go on at 10. Free entry.

Join us for another spot of eclectic electronic cheekiness served up by some of Hanoi’s naughtiest monkeys. This month joining Vaughan and Cybersnake we have an extra special guest in the form of Vietnam’s biggest electronic music artist, Tri Minh. Organiser of the amazing Soundstuff festival, Minh is known for his experimental music productions and live performances both domestically and abroad. For us he will be delivering a special club-flavoured set, so this is definitely one not to be missed!
On this evening we will also say bye to our friend Sebastien Gesell who is leaving hanoi soon. He will play a warm up set from 9pm , that will be your last chance to hear him play in Hanoi !
At Madake we go late and loud! After midnight we shut the front door to keep the boys in green happy, so knock and you shall enter!
