Experimen.Tet Returns to HRC, v3.0.

Experimen.Tet Chapter III

Experimen.Tet Chapter III

Hanoi Rock City hosts its annual post-Tet gathering of experimental art and music this evening. Titled Experimen.Tet, this marks the third year of the event and the line up features a variety of faces from Hanoi’s experimental scene.

Look for new sets from the likes of Dr. Mathias, the DomDom student crew, Dee.F, Gentle Ohm, Parallel Asteroid and more. One sneak preview: local percussionist William Badger makes his experimental solo premiere with a set of songs composed for drum machines, Animoog and a Jupiter T analog synth. Sounds intriguing! All the sets should both challenge and entertain, and look for some live art during the show. Best of all, it’s free!

Check it out tonight at HRC. The schedule is below. Also look for DomDom students to make an encore performance tomorrow evening.

Lastly, I was out of town for a week or so and missed the Mess+Noise event at HRC featuring, among others, Hanoise friend Dan Henneberry performing as Lark Minkous. Really looking forward to the next incarnation of this event.

I’m so glad you run this blog, but I wish you posted info about shows a little bit earlier. I just moved here from hcmc, and I’m looking forward to seeing some experimental shows here, but I always seem to check the blog the day after they’ve happened!

    • Good point…will try to stay on top of getting them up earlier. At some point I’d like to create an events calendar that shows are posted to as soon as they are announced. It’s all about time, of which I have little. Definitely check out the venues’ various Facebook pages/blogs as they often have good info up in advance. The Experimen.Tet show, for example, was up on HRC’s Facebook page for a couple of weeks prior to the show. But yeah, I’ll definitely try to get stuff up earlier whenever possible. Thanks for checking the site out!
